Flyer: Statement on Postal Workers' Struggle
Download this flyer and help spread the word about the campaign to stop the assault on postal workers! Please be patient; flyer may take a few moments to download.
An attack on postal worker rights is an attack on us all. The last thing that we need is more layoffs. Communities across the country already have too many people looking for work. We already have record levels of poverty and record numbers of people competing for lower and lower wage jobs.
Those who want to destroy the public postal service by saying that it is “bankrupt” are lying. The situation has been manufactured by placing ridiculous, unnecessary financial requirements on the postal service that no other company has to abide by.
Their aim is to turn it over to some major corporation, which will make billions in profit while cutting service. Join us in Justice First to build a movement defend our communities from greater poverty and say ‘NO’ to the attacks on postal workers.
Half-sheet flyer: The truth about Pepco
During the last five years, Pepco has demanded and received a doubling of utility rates that people in Maryland and the entire DC area have had to pay. Undoubtedly more rate hikes are on the horizon.
Half-sheet flyer: No shut-offs! 50 percent rate reduction! (Spanish)
Higher energy prices, a result of deregulated markets, have led to rising electricity and natural gas costs. An average monthly Pepco bill for D.C. customers rose from $58.16 in 2004 to $103.67 in 2009.
This flyer gives the facts and figures on Pepco's rip-off. Distribute it widely!
